German dance teacher Dorothea Anger was the creative director of the dance ensemble of the central ‚FDJ’ student club of Dresden University. She had studied pedagogy, sport, mathematics and physics and taken dance lessons with Mary Wigman. After completing her studies in 1934 she worked as a sport assistant at the Dresden technical college. Her work concentrated on amateur dance and from 1951 onwards she was a member of numerous dance clubs such as the SAG, BAG, VDO and ZAG.
