Moving Thoughts. Tanzen ist Denken.
Berlin: Vorwerk 8 Publishing House, 2003.
Accompanying book of the international conference MOVING THOUGHTS - TANZEN IST DENKEN, which took place from 1 to 3 December 2000 in cooperation with the Leipzig Dance Archive and LOFFT e.V. The book contains articles, extracts from the discussions, and profiles of those involved.
DANCING IS THINKING. Dancing is acting. Dancing is an action creating that which it describes. Is thinking dancing?
The radical thesis: DANCING IS THINKING directs the train of thought to the inevitable conclusion that there is no point in differentiating dance in history, performance or discourse.
The project MOVING THOUGHTS is a three-day dance production illuminating the various facets of dance–reflection. The main focus is on the historical development of contemporary dance and the multi-layered ways of reception and processes influenced by the performative structures of body and movement. The experimental conference MOVING THOUGHTS wants to create a new forum of discourse about dance between theory and practise.
